WMFHA Hosts EV Grant Program Webinar
On Tuesday September 19, WMFHA hosted a webinar educating attendees on the state’s recently announced Washington EV Charging Program (WAEVCP). Created through $64 million of state funding, the program includes $28.8 million of grant funding to support multi-family housing infrastructure, specifically to offset the cost to install Level 2 chargers in qualifying multi-family communities. Qualifying projects will receive a grant that can cover up to 100% of their equipment and installation costs.
Micheal Mann, with Cyan Strategies, gave an overview of the program of at the highest level. Alex Dahl, Associate Manager, Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, with Center for Sustainable Energy then highlighted qualifying project types and described the grant application process as well as the scoring matrix used by the state. One highlighted bonus in the grant application is using an Office of Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (OMWBE) certified company for your qualifying EV project. Luckily, we have a supplier member who can help with that, LED Trail. Member using members is how we all succeed.
